Diamond Series - Lungs - 8x10 or 11x14
FACT ON THE BACK:
You take 23,000 breaths every day. That is 8.3 million each year! Your lungs are made up of networks of small tubes that carry air down into millions of microscopic sacs called alveoli. Wrapped around the outside of each are capillaries, your tiniest blood vessels. These vessels are so thin that oxygen can melt right through their walls and enter your bloodstream. Likewise, carbon dioxide can evaporate outward from the blood and into the breath. You breathe in and out all day log - even while you're asleep or thinking about something else - thanks to the medulla oblongata! It automatically regulates breathing, until you decide to take control for speech, swimming or birthday parties
